Religious Education


To develop the religious literacy of students at Christ the King College. This means to encourage and excite curiosity about different faith values of the world throughout history, so that you become confident knowing, understanding and talking about different beliefs to others.

The curriculum has been designed as such in which students knowledge of different religious, theological, philosophical and social science views are built up year on year, preparing students effectively for their GCSE and A Level years. The skills they develop are focused on helping students to evaluate and reflect on a variety of perspectives.

Literacy and Numeracy

To build up literacy skills involves reding high quality texts, broadening vocabulary through learning key terms. Students are encourage talk about key issues / topics in which to develop their oracy and communication skills. There are many writing tasks in which we adopt genre of texts in to deliver information in a different way.

We analyse data through the use of a variety of statistical sources, including venn diagrams, tables, colourful maps and draw conclusions about how values and beliefs may be shaped or differ around the world. We also include exploring the analysis of key dates and times throughout history.
